Sound-absorbing louver, also known as sound-absorbing louver window or louver-type silencer, is actually a modified version of a very short (0.2 to 0.6m) plate or baffle type silencer. It is a window-type structure that allows airflow while eliminating noise. Due to the use of metal materials in its structure and special processing techniques, sound-absorbing louvers can be used in any climate condition, have low airflow resistance, high noise reduction capacity, and an aesthetically pleasing appearance, which can also serve as decorative windows, meeting the requirements for ventilation, heat dissipation, lighting, enclosure, and controlling noise radiation outward.
The general noise reduction capacity of sound-absorbing louvers is 5 to 15 dB, with noise reduction characteristics primarily in the mid to high frequency range. The noise reduction performance is mainly determined by factors such as the form of the individual louver blades, the spacing between the blades, the installation angle, and the effective noise reduction length. Pressure loss is ≤30 Pa, and the applicable flow rate per square meter is 1500 m3/h to 3000 m3/h.
Sound-absorbing louvers can be processed into single-layer or double-layer configurations, and the size specifications can be composed of a series of standard specifications based on modular sizes. The blades can be arranged reasonably to attenuate noise radiation, and micro-holes are set on the underside of the blades to absorb noise.
